Korean film has been patronized around the world since I was just a kid. Remember that movie "My Sassy Girl"? That film was so successful, a Hollywood remake was also made. Korean writers and directors never failed to capture the drama and the humor of the audience which always lead to blockbuster films. Our Australian friends are treated with the opportunity to watch these awesome films in their annual Korean Film Festival. So if you are interested, there are more details after the jump.
KOFFIA, the Korean Film Festival in Australia is back in 2013 for their 4th edition, presenting 17 feature-films and many short-films across diverse genres of Korean Cinema, which include latest blockbusters and recent classics as well as world-renowned award winning films. All films that are in Korean language feature English subtitles so no need to brush up on your Hangul.
One of the highlights of KOFFIA is the premiere of two films of our beloved Park Shin Hye. One is the short film One Perfect Day and the blockbuster drama Miracle in Cell No.7 which became the third top grossing film of all time in Korea.
This year’s festival theme is "THE MANY FACES OF KOREAN CINEMA", KOFFIA promises a unique twist from the usual experience of Hollywood. Affectionately calling it Hallyuwood.
The Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) is organized by the Korean Cultural Office, which is a diplomatic non-profit organization based in Sydney that acts as the Cultural Ambassador to all things Korean in Australia.
